The County of Hamblen will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 5:00pm, on the County’s intent to exceed the 2020 certified property tax rate.  This public hearing will be held in the large courtroom of the Hamblen County Courthouse located at 511 West Second North Street, Morristown, TN.  The certified tax rate as defined by T.C.A § 67-5-1701 is $1.7271 per $100 of assessed valuation for property inside the Morristown City Limits and $1.9362 per $100 of assessed valuation for property outside the Morristown City Limits.  The County’s proposed FY 2020/2021 budget, if adopted, will require a proposed tax levy of $1.76 per $100 of assessed valuation inside the Morristown City Limits and $1.97 outside the Morristown City Limits.

A public hearing will also be conducted on the FY 2020/2021 Budget immediately following the public hearing on the certified property tax rate.
