The Building Inspector is responsible for construction and building code enforcement activities and is dedicated to ensure safety to county citizens by enforcing the 2018 International Building Code.

The Building Inspector may be reached in the office Monday—Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. To ensure the inspector returns your call quickly, please leave your name, property address, phone number, and inspection request on his voicemail.

NOTE REGARDING ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY: If a residence is occupied BEFORE a final inspection is completed, Hamblen County WILL NOT issue a Certificate of Occupancy.
